Privacy notice
Effective September 4, 2026
This notice describes how Guardian Assist, LLC (and, until formation, the site operator) handles information on guardianassist.org. This prototype is not a HIPAA-covered production health system and is not a court records portal.
What we collect
Account and Working Group: name, email, optional county, how you heard about us, interest type, optional notes, and password if you set one.
Contact and Bugs & ideas: name, email, message, and any files you attach. Those reports may be copied into our project tracker (Jira).
Technical: session cookies or similar needed to stay signed in, plus ordinary server logs (IP, user agent, timestamps) used to operate and secure the site.
Prototype case data: demo and seed records. Do not treat the live demo as a place to store real ward, medical, or sealed-court information.
How we use it
To run the Working Group list (confirm, mail, unsubscribe), respond to contact and feedback, operate sign-in, improve the product, and protect against abuse.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use Working Group or contact data for unrelated advertising.
Who can see it
Named operators of Guardian Assist can see Working Group membership and inbound contact/feedback. Demo “roles” in the prototype cannot see the real member list.
Processors that host email, the app, or the issue tracker may process data solely to provide those services. Court, hospital, or agency partners do not receive Working Group signups unless you ask us to share something specific.
Retention and choices
Working Group records stay until you unsubscribe and ask us to delete, or until we close the list. You can unsubscribe via links in mail or the unsubscribe page. Contact us to correct or delete account or list data we hold.
Session cookies last for the login period. You can block cookies in your browser; the site may then require sign-in more often.
Security and children
Signups and forms are sent over HTTPS. This remains a prototype: do not send case numbers, ward names, or medical details through public forms.
The site is aimed at adults involved in adult guardianship. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
Changes
We may update this notice when our practices change. The effective date above will change when we do.
